Long Distance Relationship Vs. Work Friends?
I just moved to LA, where I have tons of new work friends asking me to go clubbing or drinking ALL the time. The thing is, I was never really a part of the club scene in college, and I’m also engaged to a wonderful man who lives in Boston, where we went to college together.
My friends know I’m in a long-term serious relationship, but NONE of them are in relationships as serious as mine, so I think they don’t really understand– in fact they mostly just have short hookups or date multiple people. I’m totally fine with their choices, but we’re all the same age (23-25) and I don’t want to look like the old lady. I admit that I never told my new buds I was engaged- it always seemed really out of place to tell them.
I don’t really enjoy drinking– it’s too expensive and I only really like to go to bars when my fiance is also there. I definitely don’t like clubbing, especially when I’m there and appear to be a single girl. I’d much rather go to coffee shops or art museums or performances, or stay in and cook or watch sports.
How do I turn down my friends’ invites to go out clubbing and drinking? It seems like their only mode of hanging out, ever. Most days after work I just want to go back to my apartment and talk to my fiance on Skype. But I see these friends at work ALL the time– they really are my only friends here, and I want to hang out with them without being a bummer on the party. I don’t want to be the girl that everyone thinks is boring or never gets invited to hang out… Heaven knows I’m already feeling lonely enough being long distance with my fiance. What should I do?
Long Time Boyfriend Going Away To College, Some Thoughts?
Recently my boyfriend of two years and high school sweetheart told me
that he is going to UTI in PA after we graduate, its a all guys
automotive trade school about a hour away from where we live now.
I am going to a community college for two years then was planning on transferring.
Me and my boyfriend do have a
good relationship, of course we have little nit pick fights every onece
in a while but overall we do enjoy out time together. We on average see
each other everyday at some point.
I though am uncomfortable with any type of long distance thing. I am
not one to fully trust any boyfriend. But my boyfriend wants me to
possibly move in with him at the apartment he will be living in. I
personally know I cannot afford going to a college out of state, but I
might apply to a college or two anyway to see what possibilities happen.
Even if I don’t move to PA he keeps telling me he wants to be with me
and how he will be down every weekend and so on.
I just need some other opinions on this, since this is litterally making
me have such headaches from the confusion of what to do. Any words of
advice or thoughts?
Successful Long Distance Relationships?
I met someone while on a trip during vacation. I enjoyed his company very much, and even though I was only around him for about 2 days, we talk all day through text, and still manage to carry on multiple hours of phone conversation a few nights a week (without ever noticing how long we are on the phone till after).
He seems to see a future with me, and while I like him a ton, I’m not so sure about the whole long distance thing. I am completing my first college degree, and he is 1500 miles away and has a career, an apartment, and just bought some property and a house. If the relationship does progress to that level I would relocate there I suppose
Has anyone had experience with this type of LDR? What were the issues/benefits of it? Could it last? I’m not sure that I could pick up and move that far away from everything I know-for him-and not feel resentment or isolation of some sort. Suggestions?
Am I Doing All The Work In My Long Distance Relationship?
my boyfriend and i have been dating over 3 yrs. We’ve always had a long distant relationship, but i recently transferred colleges and we’re now about 4 hours away.
He rarely makes plans in advance for us to spend time together. We see eachother every 2 weeks, but ALWAYS with me planning and visiting. He started working weekends now so when I do visit, I spend half of the time alone in his apartment waiting for him. He calls every day, but complains of how he hates the phone. I often feel like the only reason he calls is because he “has” to.
I understand that he needs his job right now but I work full time, go to college in the evenings and still make time to see him whenever I can. I feel like I’m making all of the effort and if it werent for me, we’d never see eachother.
We have a loving, loyal relationship. He’s a great guy–my best friend– so the distance has always been worth it to me. But I’m really starting to resent him because of this. Any advice??
Can You Recommend A Good Flat Screen Tv For My Apartment?
I’m looking for something around 37 inches. I really don’t know the difference between plasma and LCD so if you could explain which is best that would be great. Can you recommend a brand/model I might be happy with? This is for my living room in my apartment. Don’t need a huge TV but don’t want a very small one either. I really don’t want to spend more than $600, $700 TOPS.
Thank you~!
How Do I Secure A 42 Inch Flat Screen Tv To The Wall Without Using Screws?
I just bought a new LG 42LH30 42-Inch LCD HDTV. It’s just sitting on the table now and I want to secure it to the wall. Since I live in a rented apartment, I don’t want to put too many holes in the wall. Are there any products out there that will allow me to secure the TV to the wall without using any kind of screws?
Thank you!

Best Way To Hang A Flat Screen Tv On The Wall?
I’m getting a flat screen TV and I am going to hang it on the wall.
I’m a little bit worried about it falling off…definitely don’t want that to happen!
I want to know the best way to secure it onto the wall so it has the least chance of falling. It’s an older wall in my apartment, and the TV is 29″.
